Grading and Resurfacing Gravel Driveway With Crushed Asphalt

Gravel Driveway Resurfaced With Crushed Asphalt Millings

You may have heard that crushed asphalt millings are a great gravel driveway material, and they are.  R&H Tractor Services frequently uses crushed asphalt to grade gravel driveways when available, as it is frequently sold out.  There are several reasons to use crushed asphalt over other material, check out the list below.

  •  Less Dusty
  •  Compacts Extremely Well
  •  Drains Water Well
  •  Adds Great Curb Appeal To Your Home
  • Helps Resist Potholes

For the reason above we continue to use crushed asphalt for a majority or driveway and private road projects.

When resurfacing gravel driveways the following steps are used.

  1. Rip drive to loosen up base material
    1. This removes the compaction from potholes, that allows them to come back
  2. Grade driveway
  3. Lay new material
  4. Final grade on driveway to reset crown
    1. This allows water to run of the driveway, water is the number one reason for a failed gravel driveway.
